Webinar Description

According to the Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange, a large number of international students at colleges and universities in the United States come from South Asia (Institute of International Education, 2013). In this webinar, the presenter will provide participants with information about the specific counseling needs of this growing population of international students.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain insight into the developmental, sociocultural, and transitional processes experienced by South Asian college students (international and domestic)
  2. Explore the multiple contexts and points of intersectionality for South Asian students as they pertain to unique ethnic, religious, class, and gender issues
  3. Understand the South Asian student’s experience of navigating higher education and related best practice concerns.
