The American College Counseling Association (ACCA) is hosting its 2024 annual conference in Orlando, Florida. Considering the current socio-political climate in the state of Florida, ACCA reaffirms the value of all individuals regardless of their social identities, experiences, and perspectives, particularly those that have been traditionally marginalized. We stand with our colleagues and with all LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC students, faculty and staff and all those whose identities face discrimination and oppression under harmful historical and current legislation. We are committed to nondiscrimination and to the prevention of harassment in all forms—verbal, physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological—including protections for LGBTQ+ and BiPOC individuals. The mission statement of ACCA emphasizes inclusiveness. With a focus on social justice and advocacy that includes political and social rights, ACCA will be in Orlando. We hope you will attend the conference and join us as we support those that are experiencing harassment, civil rights violations and/or bullying based on sexual/romantic orientation and gender identity.
